The State Parliament president represents the State Parliament to the outside.
The president must ensure that the dignity and the rights of the State Parliament are protected and manages the standing orders, ensures that they are observed and maintains calm and order in the meetings of the State Parliament.
At the start of each new legislative period the State Parliament elects its executive committee.
Members of the State Government cannot belong to the State Parliament executive committee.
At present, the executive committee consists of the State Parliament president Dr. Bernadette Mennel (Austrian People's Party), the 1st State Parliament vice president Dr. Gabriele Nußbaumer (Austrian People's Party) and the 2nd State Parliament vice president Ernst Hagen (Vorarlberg Freedom Party).
