Description and wear
The Higher Montfort Medal consists of a cross, a guilloche ornament and a neckband. Measured diagonally, the cross is 55 mm from tip to tip. It has four bars which are notched at the ends. The cross is gold-plated and bears the coat of arms on a blue background. The guilloche ornament is executed in relief and loosely connected with the cross and the neckband. A gold-plated clip connects it to the neckband. The neckband is 45 mm wide, red and white, moiré, 50 cm long and knotted with two end bands.
The Montfort Medal in Gold differs from the Higher Montfort Medal in that the cross is 50 mm in size and has no guilloche ornament.
The Montfort Medal in Silver differs from the Montfort Medal in Gold in that the cross is silver-plated and worn on a red-white triangular band on the left side of the breast. The triangular band is sewn together from a 45-mm, red-white, moiré band. A holder of the Montfort Medal has the right to wear it in the miniature version or, in the case of uniform wearers, to wear the band in the form of a narrow strip.
