Since 1968 special achievements in the promotion of supraregional sport have been rewarded with the granting of the Medal for Services to Vorarlberg Sport.
The State Government of Vorarlberg is responsible for granting the award.
The Medal for Services to Vorarlberg Sport is granted on two levels, whereby consideration is given to the extent of the achievement in the promotion of supraregional sport.

Description and wear
The Medal for Services to Vorarlberg Sport is moulded in tombac and consists of a 35 x 27 mm shield bearing the State coat of arms. The white, enamelled 3 mm border bears the inscription "For services to sport". About two thirds of the shield is surrounded by a laurel wreath and there is a ring in the middle. In the gold medal the laurel wreath, the inscription and the ring are gold-plated, in the silver medal they are silver-plated. The Medal for Services to Vorarlberg Sport is worn on the left side of the breast on a red-white, moiré triangular band of 45 mm.
Holders of the medal have the right to wear it in miniature.
