Subsidisation of community and regional public transport projects
Eligible projects:
In order to give the communities an incentive to invest in ÖPNV projects, the State Government introduced guidelines as early as 1990 on the subsidisation of community and regional public transport projects.
Type and scope of the subsidies:
Depending on the financial strength, 25 % to 40 % of the costs spent by a community on the implementation of the measure. Stationary facilities for regional transport (stops, stations, information columns etc.) are subsidised at a subsidisation rate increased by 10 %.
Eligible costs:
Costs for studies, improvement of services, investment costs for the construction or improvement of the necessary infrastructure (e.g. stops, bus shelters, ticket machines etc.) and costs for public relations and advertising are eligible for subsidisation.
Subsidies for the construction of private connection railways
Eligible projects:
Construction and extension of private connection railways including the necessary platforms and the required facilities for the rail-bound transhipment of goods.
Type and scope of subsidisation:
40 % of the eligible investment costs minus 25 % own funds
