The State of Vorarlberg on the Internet

Vorarlberg is the only State in Austria to have set up a fund to save the forest. The fund is used to finance 20 different forestry measures such as processing of damaged wood, forest maintenance, recovery of timber with horses, training of forestry apprentices, maintenance of protective forest, felling etc. Subsidies are also available from the "Program for the Development of Rural Areas". The aims of forestry subsidisation in Vorarlberg are the maintenance of a healthy, natural forestry, the prevention of hazards, the promotion of environmentally friendly forms of forest utilisation and the maintenance of protective forest.
