Area of gastronomic distintion
The enjoyment of pleasure contributes to the quality of life. Regional agricultural products form the basis for the rising reputation of local gastronomy. These products are born of natural conditions, soils and climatic conditions, and deliver true qualities of sustenance.
Since the autumn of 2005, Vorarlberg has had three areas of gastronomic distinction, characterized by their leading products: the alpine and mountain cheeses of the Bregenzerwald, Großwalsertal mountain cheese and the “Montafoner Surer Kees”.
Marketing initiatives
Cooperative quality assurance and marketing initiatives, such as the “luag druf“ (“count on it“), local quality mark, the Bregenzerwald “route of cheeses“, the “Walserstolz“ promotional campaign, the Bantel cheese works and companies such as Alma, Rupp and “Vorarlberg Milch” provide the connection between producers, the trade sector and consumers. In conjunction with trading partners, these initiatives ensure that the wide range of fresh and healthy Vorarlberg food products reach the shelves by the shortest possible route, and are therefore available for the enjoyment of consumers and the support of our farming families.
